DSL Alternatives to Fairpoint?

I did a rather thorough search, in late 2007, for ISPs which didn't
$u|K (cable, DSL, dialup... anything).  MV was the *only* decent ISP I
was able to find serving Dover, NH.

If you don't want MV, you may have to settle for "less of an ISP".
But that still leaves you free to pick your poison. ;)  Incidentally,
for what reason(s) do you wish to steer clear of MV? (Reply off list
if you like...)
