  Mike Spenard has SIGNULL, which is a multi-valued reference.  Some
systems define a symbolic constant "SIGNULL" to indicate the absence
of a signal.  Mike also founded a line of 802.11 wireless products,
named "signull", an obvious pun on "signal".
