If you don't need/want/lustafter color, get a laser printer. I've been
using a Brother HL1460n for 8 years now. Networked, PCL and PS emulation.
LPR, IPP, Appletalk, 9100, ftp & Netware printing. Web server in it can
configure everything.
I've gone through a few ink jet printers, including one that I printed 5-6
pages and used the rest of the cartridge up a week later trying to clear it.
I have a samsung USB color laser hooked up to a dlink print server for the
rare color print. It cost less then the brother laser did.
If I need photos printed I go to Walgreens, etc with a flash drive. Far
better quality then the ink jet for about the same cost/photo if the ink jet
works perfectly. You can also send off to one of the online photo printers
for less $$$ or if you want to print on a shirt, calendar, mug, poster size,
etc.
