Yeah, moinmoin rocks, too. That's one of the problems - I think there
are hundreds of wiki applications. And I've installed and played with a
dozen or so over the years.
I thought I'd pick a simple minimal one (Dokuwiki), a rich LAMP one
(TWiki), a complex and sophisticated one (MediaWiki) and one integrated
into a larger app (RedMine). There are many, many others equally worthy,
I just happened to have one of each at hand to demo and and work with.
I hope the discussion at the meeting (and here on the list) to focus on:
ease of use, features, purposes, implications of the Read-Write Web,
Semantic Web, etc.
Does anyone know of a site that catalogs or compares Wiki software? I
know there's a great one at cmsmatrix.org for Content Management
Systems, but I haven't run across something similar for wikis....
Extra credit: on another list where I posted this announcement, we are
having a good discussion of "what defines a wiki versus a blog or a CMS"
Opinions welcomed. Venn diagrams for extra, extra credit ;)
