Hi,

For reasons too long to explain here I am going to drive to the Ottawa
Linux Symposium (http://www.linuxsymposium.org/2011/) It takes about
seven hours from Nashua, and I will be leaving Nashua about 1400 on
March 12th, so we should be getting into Ottawa about 2100 on the night
of the 12th...perhaps a little later.

I am going to rent a car to do this, and keep the car for the return
starting on the morning of June 16th. The car rental is about $250 for
the time, and there will be gas. I will get an "economy" car, so the
gas mileage should be good...let's say another $100 for gas. If there
are two of us, we split it in half. If I get another one or two people
to go along, we can go up to four in the car (and if I get four we may
go with a slightly larger and more comfortable car). So with two it
will be less than $175 for each and if four it will probably be more
like $100 each for the car.

For those in the "North Country" I will probably be going up Rt. 89, so
even people at Dartmouth could join in.

With the hotel either you can register on your own or I would be happy
to share a room with you. I used to stay in the suite rooms right next
to the conference center and each suite had two bedrooms and a kitchen
so you could eat some meals in the room.

As a favor to Andrew Hutton, the long-time producer of this event, I am
trying to keep my travel costs as low as possible, so if there is
someone who is going to OLS, or who has not thought about it until now
and would like to go and share the costs of the car, gas, and room,
please contact me through private email.

Of course people who are willing to suffer through stories of the early
days of computing and Linux are the most welcome, as well as scotch
drinkers and those who like quality beer.
