Hi Loyd!

Sorry I missed your meeting tonight, I returned from another trip, got
busy and your meeting announcements flew past.

I have this suggestion for meeting topics that I used to use a long time
ago:

Once a quarter or every six months you send out a simple email to your
mailing list that says:

o What do you (the members) want to hear about?

Let people reply to that.  You ask questions about topics where you are
not sure what the person was asking for, then you write them all up.

Then you send out an email that says:

o Anyone able to present on any of these topics?

And let them respond back.  Then you can pigeon-hole them to certain
months/nights, and if they would be willing to do the presentation for
another "GNHLUG" group or not.

In the day of the Wiki you might set up a "wish-list" there, but I found
that many people just liked to send it back in email.

This worked for me for about five years.

I have ideas for alternate meeting formats, but they probably should not
be discussed on a family email list. ;-)
