The Internet Archives (http://archive.org/details/computermagazines) has
many old computer/gaming magazines scanned in & available to view.  I don't
see Dr. Dobbs at all :-( but Micro Cornucopia, Computer Shopper and Amiga
World are there.

I remember reading the 386 BSD series by the Jolitz' in Dr. Dobbs.  I
downloaded it and it wouldn't run on my Gateway 486, but Linux SLS 1.03
would.

Back then, Byte had an article (several pages!) on navigating the Unix file
tree!
