Fifo buffer question

I first learned to appreciate screen when I was working on
embedded-Linux telecom devices. Nothing like trying to remotely
debug a process running on a piece of experimental telecom equipment...
over the experimental link.
Now one of the first things I do when I join a new embedded-Linux
project is to ensure, wherever possible, that screen is included
in the standard software-install on the thing. Always seems to
save me some sort of major hassle at some point.
Sent via GNU Emacs running in a GNU Screen session.
