I've got one of those, too (IIRC SANE drives it as a Plustek chip; "recognised as a USB imaging device doesn't really mean as much as you'd want to believe"...). Nice little scanner. I was going to mention it, but then I realised I bought that scanner 12 years ago :)

Now I'm sort-of wondering how the world of scanners has changed in the last decade.... We used to use flatbeds to scan photos after getting the prints back from the drugstore.... I guess that market's pretty much gone now, huh?
