Hi Everyone,

I have a friend who is prototyping a new software product for
manufacturing. He is looking for development help. Here is the
description he gave me.

I hesitated to put this on the job list because currently there is no
salary now however that could change quickly. If you are interested in
finding out more, send me an email and I will put you in touch.

I am looking for two programmers each with a different focus and
overlapping backgrounds.

Web and Database Server focus

This individual needs talent with web servers supporting
opensource databases. They need to be able to create systems deployable
in Linux or MS Windows preferably with Apache and using PostgreSQL or
MySql, although the actual software used is open. They also need to be
able to support Java for server side scripting and application support.
They should be familiar with XML as a data structure and have some
exposure to Web Services.

Experience: Apache, Java, Open Source Database, XML, Web Services

Interface Focus

This person should be a master at interface design,
especially when building interfaces for a particular workflow. They
should be familiar with deploying interfaces, written in an open source
language (preferably Java) on both Windows and Linux systems. They
should be able to read and write data to backend systems, web pages, and
databases.

Experience: Java based GUI, Data management, workflow design.

One person could manage both jobs initially, in which case the interface
would be more important. Rapid prototyping and an understanding of
business processes is important for both developers.
