    Manage resolution of all severity 0 level events; includes
    briefing upper management and coordinating repair actions with
    other groups.

    Serve as primary customer contact; responsible for keeping
    customers fully informed and satisfied with Genuity service;
    on-call 24x7 to handle escalations for critical issues both
    on Genuity's backbone and for end-user troubles; act as team
    technical leader for all escalated issues.

    Develop/enforce aggressive escalation policy with vendors.

    Develop NOC SOP and standardized ticket formats; ensure all
    work follows change plans with minimal impact on customers;
    participate in development of new standards for streamlining
    hand-off of customer from Provisioning to Sustainment groups;
    ensure all MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) targets met by NOC staff.

    Ensure all NOC staff members are trained and qualified to
    configure and troubleshoot all devices on the backbone and
    in end-user locations; help staff members obtain skills and
    recognition necessary for advancement from the MCS group into
    Genuity engineering and design groups; develop quarterly
    incentive targets for staff, then advise and assist in
    reaching those goals.
