Sr. User Interface Developer
Open source presents a unique and exciting opportunity for UI Developers.
The OSS communities have successfully developed many pieces of software, but
many of the projects are designed by technically sophisticated users, in
software development, or as part of the larger computing infrastructure, and
are not always designed/produced with the user in mind.
The Sr. User Interface Developer at Optaros will have the chance to help
improve the face of OSS, and meet the important multi-disciplinary role on
project teams of leading the design, usability, and production for project
teams, as well as a chance to get involved with the communities.
Ideal Skills:
· User interface design
· Document business processes and use cases
· Develop, present and collaborate on story boards
· Implement server side presentation logic and client side scripting
· Perform functional testing
· Produce user facing documentation
Required Qualifications:
· UI Design/Development
o Development and delivery of business requirements with business
users
o 5+ years experience in UI design in web based projects with most or
all of the following capabilities: visual design, usability expertise,
information architecture, HTML, JavaScript, DHTML, CSS, experience using the
DOM, XML XSLT, multimedia compression, and cross-browser debugging
capability
o Accurate scheduling estimation and tracking
o Information architecture planning and documentation
o Experience with coding to web standards (table-less design) and
accessibility (Section 508 compliance)
o Experience with the following technologies is preferred by not
required for this position. The candidate who successfully meets the
requirements of this position can expect the chance to learn, and work with
the following technologies: PHP, AJAX, ASP, JSP, JSTL, Struts, Spring,
Velocity, or Sitemesh, .NET, and C#, and Open Laszlo.

o Ability to gather client requirements and write documentation
o Prior experience in facilitating clients through decision-making
processes
o Previous services and/or consulting experience desirable

Senior Developer
The very nature of open source presents technologists with an accelerated
way to gain exposure to and acquire new knowledge and skills. At Optaros,
we deliver projects that are always built on open source technology. In

people who are committed to promoting the adoption of open source software
across markets and verticals. We have recognized open source leaders such
as Robert (r0ml) Lefkowitz and Stephe Walli to help us accelerate the
adoption curve in the Enterprise and to help us develop and foster this
capability within the company.
Ideal Technical Skills: 2-5 years of extensive design, development and
deployment experience on multiple enterprise platforms. (J2EE design
patterns or .NET, Hibernate, Spring, PHP/Perl/Python)
Required Qualifications:
- Software design & development
o A thorough understanding of OOAD methodologies, OO design patterns,
and popular open source J2EE tools and frameworks
o Solid understanding of web application MVC architecture (Struts or
similar)
o Strong experience in at least one industry leading database and on a
leading edge application server
o Experience developing J2EE server-side applications

o Ability to gather client requirements and write documentation
o Prior experience in facilitating clients through decision-making

o Experience using professional concepts to resolve complex issues in
creative and effective ways
o Ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and
