Job Title: Senior Web Developer

Job Description: Provides technical leadership and is responsible for
the overall design, development and implementation of software
projects. This includes specifying frameworks, and core technologies
that lay the foundation for the software from the system level
services.up to the presentation layer. Defines the information flow,
presentation, and the underlying tools and technologies. Works with
management, team members and project stakeholders to define
requirements and implementation plans.

Has responsibility for technical leadership and coordination on each project.
Provide input for technology selection and project plan
Review of designs and/or author technical requirements
Write and document all code
Responsible for the technical quality of the user interface and
presentation layer
Perform regular code reviews
Leverage free and open source technologies
Ensure Standards compliance
Resolve or escalate all software technical issues
Mentor resources on technical and architectural concepts for software
Adhere to develoment processes and production guidelines

Job Requirements: Knowledge and Previous Experience:
Minimum of 8 years experience in the software development industry
Minimum 5 years of web development experience
Experience in Object Oriented Analysis, Design, Programming
Experience in design and development of web-enabled enterprise
software solutions
Understanding of software development methodologies and concepts (e.g.
Waterfall, RUP, UML)
Experience with advanced development environments and infrastructure
(SCM, debugging, release engineering)
Experience with full product lifecycle from scope to customer release
Experience with Linux environments (Solaris a plus)
Experience in design and development of UI's for large content
management and document management systems

Skills, Abilities, Competencies:
5+ years of web development technologies on Linux, Apache, MySQL,
Python, PHP and Perl (emphasis on Python and PHP)
5+ years of Apache web server experience (Tomcat a plus)
5+ years experience in web application development and tools (IDEs,
debuggers, prototype, UI testing tools)
Experience with Zope required
Debian GNU/Linux
Apache 1 and 2
MySQL 3, 4, and possibly 5
PHP 4 and 5
HTML, HTTP and related protocols
MVC pattern and other OO patterns
javascript including AJAX, DHTML
XML, XPATH, XSLT, XML Schema (XForms a plus)
Web Services (e.g. XMLRPC, REST, SOAP, UDDI, WSDL)

Level of Education Required:
Bachelor of Science or equivalent work experience.
