Hello Everyone,

My customer is a NH based 2 year college with multiple campuses.  The
majority of their systems are Unix based so I thought someone from the Linux
community might be interested.  The pay range is up to $80K and the benefits

*         Plans, organizes, manages, and coordinates the implementation,
operation, and maintenance of the system's administrative computing
services, and provides leadership to all aspects of technological
integration into departmental administrative systems.  Information
technology operations and services include: network systems administration;
database administration; Banner/SCT administrative student information
systems; communication systems - data, voice, and video; and specialized
applications of technology for instruction, library services, and inventory
management. 

*         Leads the IT Department in developing, enhancing, and maintaining
the technological infrastructure needed to support the college system in
achieving its instructional and business goals, and provides guidance to
system and college administration on all areas related to technology.

*         Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates personnel with the IT
Department, and plans and develops the day-to-day policies and procedures
necessary to carry out IT operations.

*         Analyzes, and evaluates System IT resources and performance, and
initiates necessary corrective actions to maintain services and meet
colleges and system needs.

*         Works collaboratively with the college leadership and IT services
to enhance IT programs and services and develop short and long-term plans
and goals for IT.

*         Develops capital and operational budgets, monitors expenditures,
and oversees vendor contracts and services.

*         Develops and implements system-wide IT policies and procedures.

*         Maintains currency in field of IT.

*         Performs other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education:  Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university.  Each
additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year
of required work experience.

 

Experience:  Ten years of experience in information technology or data
management, five years of which shall have been in a management capacity.
Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one
year of required formal education.  

 

License/Certification:  Valid drivers' license or access to statewide
transportation.

 

Special Qualifications:  Working knowledge of software and applications
related to relational databases and database administration, and of Unix
hardware and software and Windows server software.  Preferred applications
and software include: Oracle, and SCT/Banner.  Knowledge and abilities in
systems analysis and design, and in hardware, networking, and software
applications.

 

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS:  Knowledge of techniques in information technology
analysis and design.  Knowledge of the capabilities and requirements of
information technology equipment.  Knowledge of the principles of effective
supervision and administration.  Knowledge of the principles and techniques
of systems documentation.  Knowledge of the principles and practices of
administration, public personnel administration, government budgeting and
general services administration.  Knowledge of the principles of computer
programming.  Ability to communicate effectively.  Ability to analyze
operations and organize component parts into a logical system.  Ability to
supervise subordinate professional/technical employees.  Ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates,
associates, agency management officials, electronic equipment manufacturers
and professional organizations.
