I'm starting a business as a VAR (value-added reseller), and I'm looking
for a source for highly customized Linux-based computers. I've
contacted numerous distributors and dealers with no luck.

I'm looking for someone who has a business or is interested in starting
a business as a computer dealer. I'm open to buying computers from
someone with no previous business experience, but you would need to:

-have experience (whether professional or as a hobbyist) assembling and
testing computers
-have experience (paid or unpaid) as an open-source developer (see below)
-be able to purchase parts for resale (i.e. have reasonably good credit)
-plan to remain in the state of New Hampshire for the foreseeable future
(for tax reasons)
-be interested in a long-term (and eventually full-time) business (not
just an occasional project)
-be self-motivated and able to make a significant time commitment
-understand that there is risk associated with starting any business
-be able to send and receive packages on a daily basis (if working from
home, you may need to check your zoning regulations)

Volumes will initially be low. Systems will be drop-shipped directly to
the end-users.

I will also need a customized Ubuntu Linux installation DVD, with a new
version to be developed every 6 months or so. (This will be a custom
Ubuntu installation DVD with additional packages and some changed
defaults; it will not be a custom distribution. Detailed specs are
available.) It will need to be thoroughly tested with each new PC
configuration. Therefore, I'm seeking a system builder who also has
experience (paid or unpaid) as an open-source developer. There may be
other development projects from time to time.

Please email me if you would like more information.
