Description***

*A small Linux based technology consulting company is looking to hire a 
smart energetic Senior Linux Systems Administrator. 

The ideal candidate is someone with an extensive system administration 
and software development background who is comfortable in an open 
standards Linux environment requiring some inter-operation with 
Macintosh and Windows machines. Candidates should enjoy working with 
smart people to solve IT and software development problems in efficient, 
open, and reliable ways. 

Because of the wide variety of difficult computer science problems, the 
requirements for IT infrastructure and internal software projects are 
varied, unconventional, and complex. The candidate will maintain the 
current systems and network but also needs the ability to expand or 
bring new systems on-line as needed.  Candidate will be given full 
responsibility and authority to run all the IT systems.  Will have input 
in technology selection, purchasing, installation, budgeting, etc.

**Required Experience***

    * Minimum 2 years direct hands on experience with networking,
      firewalls, LANs, ISPs
    * Minimum 5 years experience with Linux systems administration
    * Systems Administration experience in a heterogeneous computer
      environment
    * Systems Administration experience with Windows
    * Experience with in-house programming projects.
    * Good working knowledge of at least one of C/C++, perl, python

**
Preferred Experience**

    * Proven ability to quickly provide unique and creative solutions
    * Systems Administration experience with Apple Macintosh
    * Advanced scripting or programming ability
