Jr. Systems Administrator

DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position’s day
to day responsibilities will involve the direct support, administration,
maintenance and building of SoundBite’s internal systems.  Working in an
organization that prides itself on its technical capabilities, this
position offers a tremendous amount of opportunity to grow and learn new
technologies for the right candidate.  Working with other Systems
Administrators, initial areas of responsibility will include:

·          Red Hat Linux based server build outs, Kickstart management,
and administration
·          Linux, Apache, as well as WebLogic knowledge and support.
·          Ongoing design planning, implementation, and maintenance of our
growing system infrastructure.
·          Assist in managing both vendor and service provider
relationships so that they operate effectively within the environment.
·          Minor Oracle DB Support for critical business systems

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:   1 to 3 years experience in a Linux administrative
capacity, working with server technical infrastructures.  Experience
working in team-orientated environments.  Experience should primarily be in
Unix/Linux servers and operating systems.  Basic networking knowledge is
required.  Demonstrated experience with larger networking and/or systems
practices and infrastructure are a plus.


EDUCATION: AS/BS (CIS, CS or EE) or equivalent experience


REQUIREMENTS:

·          Working knowledge of Linux/Unix based operating systems
(particularly Red Hat).
·          Proficient with domain model structures (NIS as well as Active
Directory Trees, Forests, Objects, Group Policies).
·          Demonstrated basic understanding of TCP/IP and Ethernet
inter-networked environments.
·          Familiarity of Apache, sendmail, and Bind DNS are an essential.
·          Highly self motivated team player.
·          Familiarity with systems configuration such as disk storage
management, memory, hardware and software configuration.
·          Ability to take direction and feedback from others.
·          History of providing and adhering to “best practices”
processes and procedures in a documented format.
·          Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-orientated environment.
·          Excellent communication skills (written and oral).

 

The following skills are a plus:

·          Storage Infrastructure deployment and maintenance.
·          Database Management (Oracle/MySQL)
·          WebLogic
·          VMWare
·          Red Hat clustering experience.
·          Experience with Nagios, Cacti and MRTG.
·          Microsoft SFU experience
·          EMC CLARiiON
