Contract - Defense Industry

Location - North of Boston - MA

Desired Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills.
- Good understanding of fundamental TCP/IP concepts.
- Familiar with storage concepts (SAN or Local Attached).
- Programming or Scripting experience.
- Strong understanding of fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts.
- Strong understanding of UNIX operating systems (LINUX, Solaris, HP-UX, or IRIX).
- Must posses an ACTIVE  US DoD Secret Clearance.

 

Primary responsibility will be to provide daily system administration support of the various classified programs at the Integrated Air Defense Center, Andover, MA.  Candidate will also maintain and troubleshoot UNIX / PC environments and network infrastructures.  Candidate must have strong Unix skills.  Other responsibilities will include:
- Analyzes internal or external customers computing requirements, and determines equipment and software requirements for solutions to problems.
- Develops customized solutions to customer/user problems
- Analyzes new hardware to determine its need or application in the existing or proposed system. 
- Advises on new techniques and estimated costs associated with new or revised programs and utilities, taking into consideration personnel, time, and hardware requirements, and makes trade-off analyses.
- Provide complete end to end Computer System Engineering support, to include but limited to:
- Build and maintain servers for User Authentication, mail, DNS, NFS, and other present and future service requirements.
- Build and maintain file servers, network switches and Window desktops.
- Respond to user requests that have been elevated by junior staff.
- Ensure server and application compliance with new security or performance requirements.
