It was nice meeting you and speaking with this afternoon.  Per my call, I’m
conducting a very confidential search on behalf of one of my clients, which
is detailed below.



*Embedded Linux Director*

*Primary and Secondary Responsibilities:  ***

   - Provide technical leadership, support and direction for a team of
   software engineers
   - Provide clear representation and status updates on the team’s
   deliverables to the organization management
   - Leverage available resources for on time execution of deliverables
   - Manage local and global development resources to achieve product
   development needs, while maximizing skills and efficiencies
   - Track the embedded Linux World / Dynamic in the industry (Competitive
   Intelligence) and provide necessary strategy to expand leadership in the
   open source
   - Familiarity with the Software industry around application processors,
   browsers and multimedia
   - Flexibility to travel to non-US sites as needed to meet training and
   development goals
   - Contribute to  the strategy and product requirements of the embedded
   open source activities and solutions
   - People manager responsible for recruiting, training, compensation and
   performance reviews
   - Ability to build a strong technical culture that allows for individual
   growth resulting in flexible and innovative solutions

*Required Basic Qualifications:***

   - Proven Development and management experience in Linux and open source
   development
   - 5 to 10 yrs experience as a software manager or Team Lead – experience
   in managing large team of above 75 people in multi location
   - 10+ yrs experience as a software design engineer (Standalone desktop
   applications, embedded, web)
   - Experience developing in Java or other object-oriented languages
   - Proven experience creating and implementing cross-platform technical
   solutions
   - Ability to mentor and train a team of engineers
   - Requires a good understanding and experience in software design
   development for embedded and a IT infrastructure required to support the
   development
   - Requires a good understanding in software development processes and
   techniques to achieve on time high quality maintainable solutions
   - Familiarity with software configuration management systems and tools
   - Ability to effectively set vision, strategy and execution plans to the
   team
   - Experience in development of applications in multi core/multi thread
   architecture
