at: Dartmouth College, Carson Hall Room L02
All are welcome, free of charge.
Agenda
7:00 Sign-in, networking
7:15 Introductory remarks
7:20 Asterisk - Modular Phone switching scalable from the
home to enterprise using open source software
presented by Stan Brinkerhoff
Asterisk is a complete PBX in software. It runs on
Linux and provides all of the features you would expect
from a PBX and more. Asterisk does voice over IP in
three protocols, and can interoperate with almost all
standards-based telephony equipment using relatively
inexpensive hardware. We will cover the fundamental
configuration, and concepts of setting up your own
Asterisk PBX system, including features such as
voicemail, extensions, and connectivity to VOIP and
POTS phone providers.
8:50 Roundtable Exchange - where the attendees can make
announcements or ask a linux question.
Please see the website for links to directions.
If any area companies are interested in sponsoring refreshments, please
let me know.
Please RSVP so we can give a refreshment sponsor a headcount.
