$ cd /usr/local/src/linux/2.4.18
$ grep -lr CONFIG_UMISC .
$ cd /usr/src/linux-2.4.18-3
$ grep -lr CONFIG_UMISC .
$
That string does not appear in either the pristine 2.4.18 source, or the
Red Hat Linux 7.3 kernel 2.4.18-3 patched source.
Yet, /proc/misc does exist (and is populated) on my RHL 7.3 system.
Checking $LINUX_SRC/Documentation/Configure.help, I find no mention of
anything having to do with the "misc" driver. I do, however, find the help
keyword UMISC listed, but with no other mention.
Curious.
