And speaking of Knoppix, after Rob's demo of this a few weeks ago in
Nashua, I burned myself a copy and recently had to use it to recover
data off of my wife's laptop which recently died.
At first, I used it to get as much data off the old hd as possible,
then, after she re-installed W2K, which for some reasons doesn't come
with all the appropriate drivers on the install disk, I used it copy
the video and network drivers, and all her old data across the
network onto the laptop.
Hmm, funny, Knoppix had all the correct drivers for her laptop, but
Windows didn't :)
