Emacs auto-modes and tabs

  If it used tabs to do the aligning, I wouldn't mind so much.  But it uses
spaces, and at non-standard tab stops!  Grrrr.  If I wanted spaces, I'd hit
the bloody spacebar.  I want my [Tab] key to insert a TAB character, and I
want my tab stops to be every eight columns, the way God intended for them
to be.  :-)

  If it was Perl, I would have no doubt.  But for Emacs?  You're on.  ;-)
