sharing disk space between W2K and Linux?

As most of you are aware, the Linux NTFS read support is usable but the
write support is experimental at best. 
My suggestion is to use VMWARE. Then the Linux system could use SMBFS
assuming the W2K system exports it as a share. 

Not an entirely elegant or free solution, but it works.
