more apt-get stuff, RH 6.2

fellas,

here's my situation.

i have this 6.2 box on a network in Boston.  I'm in NY.  The box is 
running kernel 2.2.19.  I finally installed apt on the machine and have 
begun the process of upgrading everything in preparation for next 
upgrading the kernel...

I'm getting some errors on apt-get ugprade

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

I thought about doing 'apt-get remove passwd' and then doing 'apt-get 
upgrade passwd'  but i'm nervous about doing 'apt-get remove passwd'...

I really don't want to do anything to make this box unavailable to me..
