I've been running a Dell Latitude for almost a year now and not had a
single problem with it. I know Derek has had a Dell Inspiron which
he loved, as did Rob L. I believe Derek also had a Toshiba, but
IIRC, though he liked it, it wasn't nearly as good as his Dell.
I've heard mixed reports about IBM Thinkpads.
You might want to grab an issue of Linux Journal and find the add for
TuxTops and give them a call as well.
But, I don't think you can go wrong with a Dell.
