Welcome to Comcast High-Speed Internet!

I'm not sure what your message means. The problem Comcast has with Linux is
that they don't have an easy way to re-configure email clients on that
platform. Any Linux system connected to Comcast should continue to work
except that Linux users will need to manually re-configure their email (not
a huge job really). One thing that Comcast has said - and I'm not sure why,
is that if you don't use their transition program, your old email address
won't be forwarded to your new email address. I have no idea why though. I
would expect that to just work. Perhaps they won't setup the forwarding
unless you use their program?

In any case, due to a move, I'm going to drop Comcast in favor of Verizon
DSL which is *much* cheaper for me. I'm currently paying almost $70/month
for my Comcast cable-modem (partially because I don't have the expensive
cable service). The DSL account will cost me ~$30/month and according to
Verizon there are no extra taxes on the connection.

(My apologies in advance for the low-content message.)
