For the newbies (book question)

My mother has never even read a book on Windows.  Assuming that she switched to
Linux, I would not imagine that she'd buy a book on Linux either.  Her concerns
would be how to accomplish what she used to do on Windows on Linux; these things are
all application driven.  So once she figured out how to read/send email, view Web
pages, create spreadsheets, and create (Word) documents, she'd be set.  The thought
of having to purchase a 1000 page bok, or even 400 page book for that matter, to do
those simple things would be a definite turn off.
