To answer your question:  yes.

(I remember the flamestorm.  :)

When I read your post I also thought it likely that I had copies
of the flaming messages.  This is also the case.

I had to resurrect a bunch of files (I was using Netscape as a
mail agent in those days, and running on -ugh- u$ Windows).

Although I no longer have Netscape, a couple of greps show that
the flames are still smoldering away in there.  Christiansen,
RMS himself...

Do you want them?  I'll look deeper if you do.
