Okay, things are looking better. Reverse DNS for 199.232.38.4 now comes
back with a valid, if possibly non-standard, response:

	$ host 199.232.38.4
4.38.232.199.in-addr.arpa is an alias for 4.threeofus.com.
	4.threeofus.com domain name pointer monica.threeofus.com.

All nameservers for the <threeofus.com> domain report they have the
current serial number for that zone.

The min-TTL on the <threeofus.com> zone is one day, even though the TTL on
individual records is only three hours. (You should change the $TTL
statement to be equal to or larger then the min-TTL in the SOA record. But
that's another problem.) So, the rest of the world should see the changes
no later then 24 hours from now.

Wait a day, and then try the Verizon email thing again.

Also, another tip: Instead of using a serial number of the form YYYYMMDD,
use YYYYMMDDNN, where "NN" gets incremented for each change that day. For
example, right now, you have serial number "20031112". If you make another
change today, you cannot change the serial and keep the easy form. By
adding on the revision number, you can start with "2003111200", then go to
"2003111201", and so on. You can make this change any time you like.
However, take care to never go back to the old form once you change it.
For example, "20031205" would be less then "2003120101", even though that
implies the later is actually more recent.
