I've only used the x-series recently. I have a handful of them as
servers and use a couple as desktops too - although they are a tad noisy
for that purpose. I've bought a couple of Thinkpads (A30s) with which
the client, and I, have been quite happy. I evaluated IBM desktops back
in June. I thought the thinkcentre m-series had more life than the
a-series. (The client wanted to buy sometime good for the next 3-5
years.) However, they chose not to buy this year, so I haven't actually
used the m-series.
