Since I've had a similarly good experience, I guess I could share it:

At my previous employer, we used godaddy for all registrar services.
Typically, I'm pretty knowledgable about how to set things up, but in
one case, a client had been using godaddy for the email services as well
(through their secureserver mail servers, or something similar). I
hadn't realized this when I set it up, and I had moved over DNS, so I
had absolutely no idea where mail was set up to go before I switched the
nameservers, and I couldn't even remember the original parking
nameservers in use, so I dig via those servers.

So, I called up godaddy. Got to Tech support right away, and had a 5-10
minute hold. Explained that a client was using Godaddy for mail
services, and asked what I needed to set up in NS records for MX. The
woman on the phone immediately gave me the two correct records, along with
the MX value to be used for each, which both worked perfectly the first
time.

I'll admit that godaddy's advertising-fueled domain registration process
is extremely annoying. It's tiring to say 'no' to the same ads again
and again. However, I'm now so used to the process that I don't even
notice these things anymore: my time from wanting a domain to having it
set up and pointing to the right nameservers (hosted by Everydns.net,
who are quite awesome people as well, and donation supported) is usually
less than 10 minutes.

GoDaddy may not be perfect, but their tech support is great, and if you
know it well, their domain registration process can be quick and
painless. So I'll continue to use them for the time being, despite all
the other complaints I've seen, because they've never done wrong by me.
