system excercising/burn-in tests?

Hmmm, I had forgotten about badblocks.  Thanks :) Of course,
presumably mke2fs -c does essentially the same thing.

Yeah, the problem is we need to essentially hand them a CD or floppy
to boot the systems off of to run the burn-in test.  These utilities
are all rather independant, and can't, afaik, be strung together in
series to be run from a CD.  At least not without great pain and
gnashing of teeth :)
