  I don't think it does, although I don't have a box I can reboot to
test with a sniffer right now.

  It *does* first send an ARP *query* before assuming an IP address,
though, to detect IP address conflicts.  So if the OP tries to connect
one without first disconnecting the other, he'll prolly just knock
himself off both.
