In the light of my prior diatribe, consider this:

The world is blinded by their sight, or more precisely, by its reliance
on GUI's. Linux/Unix did it right, its just that the world doesn't
realize that (until they lose one or more of their senses).

One could say that GUI's overtook CLIs because CLI's didn't help people
learn how to use an application, and they required people to use devices
with far too many buttons on them (keyboards). Sorta funny that
keyboards were spawned by the "push button generation".
