Dumping my VoIP provider

Those on this list may recall my recently having recommended NuFone as
a PSTN-VoIP gateway. I must now withdraw this recommendation.

I just found out that new NuFone accounts will be charged a monthly
fee (in ADDITION to the per minute rate) for DIDs. Existing accounts
(like mine) are exempt, but anyone who hasn't yet signed up by now
is--well--screwed! NuFone's (former) use of per-minute rates (ONLY!)
*without monthly fees* was (emphasis WAS) the reason I chose to become
a NuFone subscriber. But from now on, NuFone will be charging monthly
fees, relegating them to just another one of the dozens of cheap-o
run-of-the-mill VoIP providers already out there.

So, now I'm looking for a new VoIP-PSTN provider--one I can, in good
conscience, recommend to others. It saddens me to see another fine
company has gone the way of El Sucko. <--(That's a very technical term
for corporate decisions to pinch pennies, made with complete disregard
for sanity.)
