Any dialup ISP's besides EarthLink support LINUX

I am currently using ValleyNet (www.valley.net) of Norwich, VT through a dial-up number in Orford NH that is part of their statewide coverage in NH and VT that is only HINTED AT in their Web Site. In short, you must telephone their office to get the appropriate telephone number(s). Although they do not claim to support Linux systems, I don't have any problems with my Linspire Disribution (www.linspire.com). Their dial-up service is relatively high-priced ($24.95/month billed quarterly for unlimited service), but the service is very reliable and with as much throughput as can be expected for a dial-up service).

At the other extreme is Mailaka Internet of Elliot ME (www.mailaka.net) that provides nationwide unlimited dial-up service at 6.95/month through a variety of network providers (I had 6 or more different numbers that were local to the Warren NH exchange!). Each network provider had throughput problems from time to time, but I was usually able to get around the problem by disconnecting and connecting to another number. Note that I was NOT using a Linux OS at the time, but their tech support people said that the system was a 'pure ISP' that would connect with any Linux system, although they were at that time unable to provide technical support for Linux users.

Because of its long history with Unix, MV Communications (www.mv.com) ought to support Linux users, although my experience with them was so far back that it required the use of old-fashioned modem connections into a shell account. :-(

Note that I too had throughput problems with Earthlink about a year or so ago despite their provision of 3 or 4 different phone numbers that were local to Warren NH.

Finally, that my Linspire OS claims the ability to connect with the following nationally known providers:
* AOL
* Earthlink
* Juno
* NetHere
* NetZero

Last but not least, the hint provided by Mailaka is to contact the tech support folks before signing up to simply ask if they are a 'pure ISP.' Like Mailaka and ValleyNet, such a service is likely to be offered to Linux users on a no-support basis. :-(

Hi

	Does anyone know of any ISP's that have local NH numbers, who support LINUX
users or have away to connect with a LINUX client, so far Earth Link has been
the only one I can find and I am using it right now.

Rich
