Brand and model of laptop?
Distribution and release?
In general, you can try: Removing any kernel module claiming to have
anything to do with power management, APM, or ACPI, and disabling any BIOS
setup option or feature mentioning the same.
APM = Advanced Power Management (which is not advanced)
ACPI = Advanced Configuration and Power Interface
