  I don't think it was discussed.  I know myself and Bruce Dawson talked it
over.  At the time, nobody had the time to do anything about it, and it was
a quick-and-dirty fix.  In all likelihood, we could flip the switch back to
"public" again without anyone noticing.

  Alas, no.

  If you have your own server, you could put up your own archives with your
own Perl script, and likely many would thank you.  I would.

  Actually, I suspect the outside person has long since forgotten about the
whole thing and wouldn't notice.  My memory of the event isn't terribly
clear.
