  Just to be perfectly clear: Derek's complaints had/have nothing to do with
the status of the GNHLUG archives.  Indeed, and ironically, about all
Derek's complaining has done is increase the number of times his email
address has appeared on this list.  :-)

  I like the idea of having a subscriber-only archive with un-obscured email
address, in addition to this hypothetical filtered-but-public archive.

  Well, they they still own the copyright of the mail in question.  You
don't.  Now, you might be able to make the case that by posting to a public
list, the person is implicitly granting the right to redistribute their mail,
but to the best of my knowledge, such a defense has never been tried in
court.

  I'm not a lawyer, and I know you aren't, either.  I wouldn't be so sure
about assuming anything.  There is nothing in either the US or the NH
constitution that says the law has to make sense.  :)
