   You seem to be assuming it's a duplex mismatch.  Do you have any evidence 
for that, or is it just a guess?  For example, have you tried lowering your 
MTU to, say, 1400 bytes, and seeing if that helps or hinders?  Often times MTU 
problems can kill performance.

   For that matter, do you have any evidence to suggest this isn't just a 
performance limit on the BESFX41?  A lot of SOHO gear is underpowered.  Hell, 
a lot of commercial gear is underpowered.

   Do you have any information on what makes the BESFX41 "better" then the 
BESFR41?  I don't know if this is the same situation, but in the past I've 
seen LinkSys make some pretty bogus claims when it comes to security. 
Certainly, the BESFR41 does have an elementary firewall.  It's not very 
sophisticated, but if you're looking for sophistication, you probably 
shouldn't be buying LinkSys at all.  :-)
