Twelve attendees joined organizer Bill Sconce two Thursdays ago for
the monthly Python Special Interest Group Meeting. As usual, Bill had
a full agenda prepared, as well as delightful cookies from janet, his
better half.

Cole Tuininga was the main presenter, showing off Myghty! a Python
implementation of the popular HTML::Mason application. Cole said that
Mason and Myghty are more than a template engine, less than a
framework, but a powerful set of tools for building your own
framework, from simple sites to complex ones. Cole had practical
experience with Myghty, having built a web site for his wife's non-
profit group. He explained how Myghty can be used as inline code
script snippets, as pre- and post-rendering filters, as as fill
structured programs in their own right. Cole has indicated that while
Myghty can serve a number of needs, he's looking to learn more about
the Django [2] package. If you know a bit about Django, Cole and the
rest of PySIG would welcome information and insights you could provide.

Bill had a number of other items to present. We got a brief slideshow
of the recent Northeast Linux Symposium, held at Gould Acedemy in
Maine, and Bill told of the wonders of a group of high school
students who ran a Python sprint there and invented a new interface
for one of the featured NELS projects. We also reviewed a great
Gotcha! where a poor choice of program name lead to the program
running twice.

Thanks to all for attending, to Cole for a great presentation, to
Bill for running the show, Alex Hewitt for supplying the network
infrastructure, and the Amoskeag Business Incubator for providing the
facilities!
