I'm having some SUSE 10.1 install difficulty, I'm
hoping a few users on this group may be familar with
these problems.
The SUSE install CD#1 ended in a reboot of the
machine. After installing CD#1 two more times with the
same end result I realized I had enough installed to
boot the installation. Booting the installation I was
able to later install CD's 2 and 3.
Now that I am unable to login I realize the login
account configuration on CD1 never ran. Verifying with
KNOPPIX sure enough the shadow file has a root with no
password, and no user account for my default login.
opensuse.org indicates that there was an earlier
graffical login problem which would require more than
one login attempt before succesfully acknowledging the
login.
Despite the fact the the root appears not to be
password protected I have not been able to login from
rescue mode. The repair app on CD#1 was unable to run
to completion.
This is my first SUSE install so perhaps someone with
more experience....
