  You are correct.  I had the same question during a verify a while
back.  I eventually tracked down an authoritative answer on the Red
Hat site somewhere.  I forget where, though.  The omission from man
page and the like is a documentation bug.

  Ah.  Good to know.
  Hmmm, I guess this means one's backup utility should be "selinux
aware", if one is using selinux.
  I always just turn selinux off.  I'm too busy/lazy/stubborn/etc to
learn about it.  (Meeting topic anyone?)
