  Possibly.  They may have pre-configured it for you.  Otherwise,
you'll need to plug in your PPPoE username and password into the
D-Link.

  Most likely not.  The D-Link router will make a PPPoE connection and
receive a public IP address from Verizon.  The D-Link router will then
do NAT for anything on the LAN side.  Typically, anything on the LAN
side will get a private IP address in one of the RFC-1918 networks
(such as 192.168.1.0/24).
