"The Windows operating system which most people are familiar with was not
designed for use in stand alone applications such as this.  The reliability
issues which afflict most PC users would never be tolerated in equipment which
is expected to turn on and work every time, as a church organ is.  The decision
was made to develop the organ's control and tone generation systems in a Linux
environment.  Linux, a highly stable operating system, is considered by many
to be the finest environment in which to run this type of stand alone
application on either standard or embedded controller PCs."
