LOL. Very well put.

Personally, I try to avoid speculation in these cases - which does cut 
down on my conversational gambits around the proverbial water cooler, as 
I neither follow sports nor watch television, leaving very little to 
talk about for most folk.  :-D

More seriously, I have no concerns for ReiserFS, but do have concern for 
Hans Reiser himself, his missing ex-wife and for the children. All else 
pales against life - and death.

Once the dust settles, and, hopefully, justice prevails, then 
reasonable, warranted speculation on ReiserFS might be in order. As Ben 
points out, ReiserFS is open source and others can pick up the pieces, 
if needed. The level of interest in ReiserFS leads me to believe 
(speculating, now) that it shall not be abandoned. Even if no further 
development happens, it can still be used as is indefinitely.
