Restraining orders mean nothing today -- Nina may have taken it out on him to
keep him away from his kids so that she could solidify custody. Or better
yet, keep him away so that she could enjoy her boyfriend "without
complications". Restraining orders are granted at the drop of a hat.

Besides, there is a long way between "violent temper" and taking a life.

That is a possibility. And maybe her boyfriend is behind it as well. I didn't
want to jump that far without knowing some more background on Nina. For that
matter, she could be back in Russia.

And don't tell me that Hans didn't have some girlfriends of his own. Another
reason I don't think he would've bothered killing his ex. He travels
internationally, so he probably had ladies all over the place.

Though, it's hard for me to believe Nina would just leave her kids behind
like that. Unless, of course, she didn't want to be bothered with them. In
which case, this plot works even better. Kill 3 birds with one stone. Then
her boyfriend can join her later, after all the smoke clears.

Stay tuned, folks. There is much more to this story than meets the eye. I
think we will all be surprised by the eventual outcome. If this is a plot by
Nina, and she was smart enough to cover her tracks, this case will go
unresolved. Hans, though, will probably never get his kids back until this
case is resolved. If Nina had a Russian passport -- in Russian, of course --
it is highly possible she could've slipped past the borders unnoticed.

As far as Hans and his kids, there is an old joke:

What's the difference between a Social Worker and a Pit Bull?
You'll get your child back from the Pit Bull!

But ReiserFS will live on in any case. Though, I will await inclusion into
the Kernel before I mess around with Reiser 4.
