I think picasa is the same way :-( And iPhoto. Too many of these apps
assume only 1 person deals with the photos.
I'm using something called jigl. It takes the photos, creates thumbnails
and previews, then adds HTML to navigate the whole thing. EXIF info is put
into the HTML.. I think there is a way to put tags into the HTML. or
they're in a text file. The whole result is static HTML with relative
links. It can be viewed with any web browser from a filesystem/CD or served
up via a web browser.
It's written in perl and uses ImageMagik and jhead. Works on Linux,
Solaris, MacOSX (I think) and cygwin.
All it really needs is a nice tagging/tag seaching app to go with it.
