Anyone had experience with Comcast SMC modem/router?

Turned out the first Comcast tech turned off NAT and then turned on VPN passing. Unfortunately he also turned on filtering which is what caused the problem. For the record, if you hook a router up to one of these SMC devices you need to set the WAN settings to the static IP address along with the gateway address and the supplied (although I had to ask) for the proper DNS server addresses. BTW, I was on hold waiting for a 2nd level tech to fix the problem for an hour and a quarter.
